As an advisor with more than 30 years of experience, Evans’ primary objective is helping clients meet their financial goals so they can live the kind of lives they desire. By offering relevant, practical education and providing hands-on support throughout the planning process, he gives his clients freedom to stop worrying about their finances and enjoy their success—because they know a knowledgeable professional is leading them in the right direction.

As a fiduciary, Evans has not only the desire to see his clients succeed but a legal obligation to act and advise in their best interest. He manages money on a discretionary basis and takes a comprehensive approach to wealth management. He helps clients address a broad range of needs—everything from financial and retirement planning to insurance, education and cash management strategies. He educates them about the economy and markets, helping them understand how current events relate to their portfolios and goals-based planning. He helps clients set healthy expectations without emotion or interference from the world’s noise. He shows them the best and worst case scenarios while preparing them for long-term security and success.

Evans graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Finance. During college, he developed an interest in market behavior and completed two internships at major brokerage firms during his junior and senior years. In 1994, he started his wealth management practice in Pinehurst. In 2004 and 2017, he earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA®) designations, respectively. With an indelible drive to improve and help others succeed, his practice has grown steadily over the years through referrals from clients who wholeheartedly trust his expertise and approach.

Evans grew up in Pinehurst, North Carolina, where he lives and runs his practice today. When the market closes at the end of each day, one of his favorite ways to spend an evening is by running the five or so miles to his country club and enjoying the view of the lake. He has three children, and he loves spending time with them and watching his sons play sports and daughter dance. On the weekends, he enjoys taking his kids to lunch or attending a UNC basketball game (he is especially passionate about the UNC-Duke rivalry as he hasn’t missed one in Chapel Hill since 1987).

Evans also belongs to Camp Fire Club of America, an organization that advocates for environmental conservation. At CFCA, he participates in a variety of outdoor competitions such as fly casting, canoeing, and target shooting. Evans is a proud supporter with both his time and resources.
