Paul Flannery
Senior Wealth Manager
A client-first approach to operations
Paul holds a dynamic role in which he ensures our practice operates smoothly at multiple levels. He oversees our business operations, compliance processes, and client services, providing support for our advisors and associates in a variety of ways. With more than 17 years of experience in the financial services industry and a penchant for problem-solving, Paul is adept at identifying the needs of both clients and advisors, streamlining operations, and finding innovative ways to put clients at the center of the wealth management process. He’s passionate about helping clients succeed and grow, and his goal is to provide meticulous, reliable support that empowers our team to serve clients with excellence.
Paul recognizes that finances play an integral role in a person’s relationships and wellbeing, and he believes that every part of the planning process—whether operational or client-facing—is valuable in helping clients gain clarity and confidence. As a senior wealth manager, he hopes to help alleviate the burden of financial stress so clients can move forward with peace and joy.
Professional Background & Education
Paul has always been process-driven and fascinated by numbers, and he saw the financial industry as an avenue where he could leverage his natural talents while helping people grow. He earned his degree from SUNY Buffalo State University, where he majored in business administration with a specialization in finance. In 2007, he started his career at Wells Fargo (then Wachovia) as a registered personal banker. In 2012, he became a branch manager, where he gained valuable experience in leadership and team collaboration. Ten years later, he joined Merrill Lynch as a senior wealth management banking specialist, providing private banking services for advisors and their clients.
In each role, Paul’s mission has been to provide dedicated service that puts clients first, and when the opportunity arose to join The Pines in 2025—a firm that builds personal connections focused on client success—he couldn’t imagine a better fit.
Personal Life
Paul lives in Pinehurst, North Carolina, with his wife Mandy (an educator) and their two daughters, who keep them busy with sports and activities. Paul is an avid sports fan, and he’ll watch or play any chance he gets (golf and football being his favorites). In his spare time, you can find him cheering on the Red Sox, the Buffalo Bills, and the Fighting Irish.
Faith is also incredibly important to Paul and his family; he considers it the guiding compass for everything he does, and they are active members of their local church.
